anyone still have realtives who refuse to leave the Bronx...I have one or two who say they will die there.

These are people without school age children. To be honest, If I didn't have a child, I don't think I would have left. I lived on Astor Ave., and it was ok.
I have an Aunt and her family in Pelham Gardens and cousins on City Island.

My parents ( Max and Estelle.) They both left FEET FIRST...

Are you kidding? My aunt is 97 yrs. old and still lives on Herschell St. off Westchester Ave. I have another aunt and two cousins who live on Hollywood Ave. by Throgs Neck. Then, I've got a few more cousins scattered around Country Club. And my best friend's still on Morris Park Ave.

Had I not had kids, I think I would be back in NYC in a heartbeat.

I tried many times to get my Mom out of there.
Even my kids in N.H. offered to take her up there to be with grand kids.

That 1 bedroom apartment my mom lived in for 37 years. She passed on at 83...... 2 years ago..

I really have no need to go down anymore....

I have two brothers that still live in the Bronx.
Neither of them plan on living in the Bronx forever and will probably move when they retire or win the lotto (whichever comes first).

How is Howard doing these days ? I really should send him an email. It has been quite awhile since our little 101 group has gone to Louies seafood for dinner.
