The Swimming pool at 169 & Jerome Ave, also ran to Gerard Ave, The Pool was managed by a English man ,Mattt Cedgewick. His Newphew Who was his assistant Norman Oxley. Originally it was the Jerome Cascades. Later became the Jerome swimming pool. On the Gerard St end of the pool was a Egg store and i remember when shopping there .They let you candle some of the eggs. Across the St. on Jerome ave was a very nice Bar & grill. They made the best pizzas in the Bronx. When I was a lifeguard ,we sent for the Pizzas. It was great. The pool was bought by a man named Jack Strayer. He was a Pilot.Jack Strayer and associates. He had a company making a amphibian plane in Maine.Richy Freidman was the head life guard. When the crowds were big on the weekend ,we would put on a show for the people. There was a tall waterslide . There was a nice man made beach and we would rake and screen it everyday. You had to walk through a shower passageway to get into the pool.

Hey JQ, almost positive it was 2083....4th floor.
I'm trying to get my mind to work wonders here. Ha! Ha! Ha! Lets see...2nd floor - a family by the name of Shore - not sure of the spelling. Two daughters, older one Dorothy and younger one (that I would love to find) Arlene. Top floor..a gal by the name of Sandra. I think she was younger then me and she had a brother. Can't remember her name. My floor....Mr. & Mrs. Marks, very elderly couple and also Mrs. Elbaum I'm guessing a widow with a son Sol. Almost 100% sure that I have photos of these two women. Wow......I impress myself with all that. Shall I keep going. Joanne |

Thanks, Mike. I'm a little befuddled by this system. I would love to connect online with friends from the old neighborhood but some of my comments should probably not be published on a public medium. Any thoughts on this? Thank you/
