Did Goetz claim it was self defense? I mean, was he threatened by a weapon from the thugs or what? Did he serve any time? What's he doing now?
Ya know, it's sad, but I watched a show one time, where they had these black decoys walk into jewelry stores in Manhattan, like Tiffany's; or trying to hail a cab, etc. They said nine times out of ten, the cabbies would pick up a white guy....at the jewelry stores, the clerks would give the eye to the security guard and someone would usually go over to the black decoy and ask them if they needed any help. I can't say I'm a racist, because I have many, many friends that are black and PR, but I have to admit, if a bunch of blacks or PR's came into a jewelry store, or any other kind of store, subway car, whatever, I would get much more nervous than if it were whites. Nowadays though, since 9/11, I get nervous if I see anyone of Middle Eastern descent at the airports!!!!!!!!!!  |

To Cathy13: The convictions of all those teenage kids in the "wilding" incident were reversed on motion from the D.A. (Morganthau) after they had all served their sentences. They were tricked into confessing to be accomplices when they thought that they were testifying as "witnesses". The actual rapist raped and murdered another (pregnant) woman and raped three others between the April "wilding" attack and his arrest in August. http://www.mysati.com/enews/Dec2002/jogger.htm I'm almost afraid to follow this up. Wow thanx for the link! I, too, am into forensics BIG TIME, I love reading about crime and murder, but get enraged when it actually happens and I hear about it on TV. I should've gone onto college and into medical forensics....I love autopsies and watching all those gorey shows...LOL.
