It is an accepted fact that GWB's administration had been planning the invasion of Iraq for years. They ignored advice about the reliability of the source of their "information" and forged ahead since they had already determined the goal. So what do we have? We have the reality that we are involved in a war which has drained our economic resources, catapulted us into a near economic depression, placed our fundamental rights in jeopardy, soiled our image in the world and has taken thousands of American lives. Of course, people here brush these facts aside and now try to blame Obama for what is going on in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The way I see it, action with the middle east was inevitable on someones watch.
911 just pushed it up. Bush did yhe best he could with the info given him, which was not always accurate.Pretty bad in fact. hindsight is always 20-20, especially when you did not like him to begin with.
O is now finding that out, and he has some people that dont give accurate info either. They have their own agenda and rode in on his coattails..The Middle East is one big quagmire, with people going country to country like you go from the Bronx to Jersey, or Penna.
They all have one thing in common, fanatical religion, and a hatred of the rest of the world.

How long was Russia there before they packed it in?

They were there for 9 years. That war is called the Soviets Vietnam. The US invasion of Afghanastan may soon be called the U.S 2nd Vietnam or maybe the U.S. 3rd Vietnam.

The politicians were given the information that Bush wanted them to have. They did not have access to all the info. When are you going to realize that you take shreds of false statements, piece them together and then think you have the truth? Lastly, how can Obama just pull the forces out of the conflict. It takes time. It is not like switching therapists...which I SUGGEST YOU DO IMMEDIATELY.

You are right about withdrawal. This is a time consuming{up to a year} to get troops and equipment out of there.

Dangeous for the troops left as troops keep being withdrawn.
It's not as simple as saying , ok its over, were out of here.
