I would say NO..its a sin to kill someone and a sin to commit suicide. To get into the gates of heaven, you must be sin free or have attoned for your sins. Just my opinion, not sure if its religiously correct.

There's no heaven and there's no hell. No god up there and no devil down there. Not even angels or virgins. Dead is dead and you wind up in the ground or as a pile of ashes.

Koros, you are a bit wrong. Heaven and Hell are in the same place, right here on earth.

You should be distinguishing between opinion and what the Holy Bible states (assuming you are asking the question and looking for the answer based on a Christian perspective).

From what I have seen in this thread, opinions vary widely from what the Christian Bible states.

What will you accept as the definitive answer, whether you believe it or not?

What the bible, quran or talmud state are simply the opinions of those who wrote them. Many of the stories are comparable to the myths of many other polytheistic societies.

I was just responding to the original question: the answers given by posters were NOT the ones that would be supported by the Bible.

I was neither defending or opposing any answer, just clarifying a point, which was my ONLY point.

And that is YOUR opinion, with no evidence in support of, or in opposition to your position.

Faith is what determines and supports the believer's answer from the non-believer's answer to the question of the existence of heaven etc.

And the more one tries to "force" an answer, the larger the ditch he creates for himself.

Mick, the commandments say......do not kill
and thats what I based my answer on, that God has said, thou shalt not kill, and I believe that if you kill someone or youself, you are in sin and will not be taken into heaven with sin on your soul. Comments......

And you are damn lucky to live in a country where you can express your belief, or should I say lack of belief.

Every basic society has a law against killing. You can't kill people in your own society but if your society deems it proper, you can kill those from an other society.

Jose, I agree with your thought, UNLESS, as you said before, you atone for your sin and are forgiven. The problem with suicide, of course, is that you do not have the opportunity to atone. Suicide is murder in the eyes of God, without the opportunity to atone.

In any case, it is the GRACE OF GOD that opens up the opportunity for us to be forgiven. We are most unworthy to receive that forgiveness, and there is NOTHING that we can do on our own to deserve that forgiveness.

MERCY: The free gift of God.

Thoughts?

What the Bible says is heresay. In my legal opinion, the Bible cannot be entered in evidence.

I could not kill anyone because of my religious teachings. I would never take my own life because of my religious teachings. Only God can create life and take life away.
So much for you Koros whatever you name is, you, who only believes in yourself. How did you come to be on this earth, did you invent yourself?

Bird, Why does God take the lives of our military in wars. So maybe God is not the only one that can take lives.
