I just heard the news that Carson has died. He was 79. NO service is planned and details surrounding his death were sketchy. I didn't even know the man was sick!

I miss his show and others, like it. Jack Paar, Tom Snyder, remember when John and Yoko guest hosted for a week?

I miss the good old late night talk shows and the variety shows.

May Johnny RIP. I can just hear St. Michael saying to the angels: "Heeeeeere's Johnnnny!" as he enters heaven.

A true legend in his time. He helped many a new star get their break in show business. Since his bypass surgery he had not been well. May he Rest In Peace, and have "One More For The Road".

You think these people will live forever. It really is a shock when you hear that one of them died. In your living room, night after night, making you laugh at the silliest things. Not many people can do what he did, and still have class.

They said he had bypass surgery in '99. Don't know how long he had emphysema. The guy that played "Darren" on "Bewitched" died of that too, poor thing. He was barely recognizable at the end. I don't know how long you can endure emphysema. I've seen two people I know with it and it is horrible, they struggle to breathe even with the oxygen tanks.

Too fucking bad is right, DaBronxer.

Even though Steve Allen and Jack Paar were doing there thing, Johhny was the Main Man for all those years. He had style and grace, and always entertained all of us as no one else could do.

Here is looking at you JOHNNY ............... Wink

Sunday, January 23, 2005, 17:44 hrs. pst.

In the VA hospitals, COPD, (emphysema) were divided into two classes, puffing pouters and blotto bloaters, depending on which form of the disease that they exhibited. The puffing pouters were very red-faced, didn't look that bad, and took rapid, short breaths. The blotto bloaters were pale, grey, clammy, and looked like hell. One form of emphysema causes the cell walls between the alveoli to dissolve, until, if they lived that long, the victims would have but one cell per lung. The other makes the alveoli impermeable so that transpiration of oxygen and CO2 gradually becomes impossible. All varieties of emphysema are progressive and incurable.

The pouters were the former, the bloaters were the latter, called bloaters because their torsos swelled up. I don't know the reason but it was probably edema.

I just found out that Deborah Walley, star of "Gidget Goes Hawaiian", and the goddess of my youth, died long ago in 2001. How can that cutie pie be dead?

Cordially,
YOGI
