THEY NOW HAVE PASSED SOME LAWS TO HELP THE AVERAGE NEW YORKER.
THEY JUST PUT A 5 CENT DEPOSIT ON BOTTLED WATER. SEE THEY ARE SO CONCERNED ABOUT ALL THAT DARN PLASTIC LITTERING THE LAND.IF YOU DON'T RETURN IT, NY GETS TO KEEP THE DEPOSIT. NO TEXTING OR USING ANYTHING ELECTRONIC THAT IS HAND HELD WHILE DRIVING. AT FIRST I THOUGHT WHAT A GREAT IDEA, IT WILL SAVE LIVES, AND INSURANCE RATES WILL GO DOWN.NOT!! I TRIED TO YELL AT A STATE TROOPER WHO WAS DRIVING BY TALKING ON HIS CELL PHONE THAT HE WAS BREAKING THE LAW. I DON'T THINK HE HEARD ME. DO ANY OF THESE JERKS WHO MAKE THESE LAWS HEAR US? WE NOW HAVE TO BUY NEW LICENSE PLATES FOR OUR VEHICLES, WHETHER WE NEED THEM OR NOT, AT A COST OF $25.00 A SET.THEY JUST MADE US BUY THEM 8 YEARS AGO! NOTHING WRONG WITH MINE, THEY'RE ONLY 4 YEARS OLD. BUT WAIT PATERSON SAYS THEY'RE NOT REFLECTIVE ENOUGH. THEY COST $10.00 TO MAKE, THE STATE COLLECTS THE REST. GEE WHAT A COUNTRY, THEY'RE SO CONCERNED ABOUT THE REFLECTION YOUR PLATE GIVES OFF, BUT NEGLECT THE ROADS AND BRIDGES THAT HAVE BEEN CONDEMNED. WAIT A MINUTE, THERE WAS MONEY PUT ASIDE FOR STUFF LIKE THAT. OH I FORGOT, THEY RAIDED THAT TOO. NOW WE HAVE TO BE CAREFUL WHAT WE EAT, AND THEY ARE MAKING SURE OF IT.LESS FATS, SUGAR,OILS, YOU NAME IT, BUT MAKE SURE YOU DRINK LOTS OF ALCOHOL WITH YOUR MEAL. WE WOULDN'T WANT YOU TO CHOKE ON YOUR BEAN SPROUTS, OR LOSE THAT REVENUE FROM THE BEER YOU DRANK.OH BUT WAIT A MINUTE THEY JUST RAISED THE DEATH TAXES. I'M SO HAPPY MY GOVERNMENT IS LOOKING OUT FOR YOU AND ME. LMAOPMP ------------------------------ IF YOU CAN'T BE CONTENT IN WHAT YOU HAVE, BE THANKFUL FOR WHAT YOU HAVE ESCAPED. |

Norre, companies are coming with all kinds of ways to make money. I am sure you know that many airlines now charge for baggage; some allow a free first bag, then its 15-25 dollars per bag. Many actually charge up to $36 dollars for a seat next to an escape door! In England, one airline has instituted a fee for using their bathroom mid-flight. They installed a credit card machine on the bathroom door and you have to swipe your credit to gain enrty. Oh yeah? What happens if you have overextended you credit. Will you be denied entry? OK then. If I EVER get onto one of their flights, I will take the path of least resistance, and take a dump on my seat. ______________________________________________________________ Where love rules, there is no will to power, and where power predominates, love is lacking. And to think you want Milhouse to supervise you medical care. Recession is when my neighbor loses his job, Depression is when I lose my job. Recovery is when Milhouse loses his job. |

YES I DO HARPER, SOMEONE HAS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE SINCE THERE IS NO ONE FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANIES BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE. THESE WERE DONE BY OUR STATE LEGISLATION, AND HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH PRESIDENT OBAMA ANYWAY.
ANY UNHAPPINESS YOU HAVE ABOUT NATIONAL HEALTH CARE, OR THE LACK OF IS IS DIRECTLY LINKED TO PREVIOUS ADMINISTRATIONS INABILITY IN GETTING IT STARTED! ------------------------------ IF YOU CAN'T BE CONTENT IN WHAT YOU HAVE, BE THANKFUL FOR WHAT YOU HAVE ESCAPED. |

TRY THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, THEY'RE THE ONES WHO DIDN'T WANT IT, STILL DON'T....I GUESS THE ILLEGALS ARE PRAYING FOR IT THOUGH AS THEY WILL BE GRANTED AMNESTY AND WILL BE UNDER THIS COVERAGE, THEN WATCH THE HOSPITAL WAITING LINES, ER ROOMS OVERCROWDED, AND WATCH THEM ALL GO DOWN.....JUST LIKE AMERICA. A couple of years ago, I had a health insurance policy from Blue Cross/Blue Shield. It cost me $650 a month with a $1000 deductible. I had to change doctors when I got it as my doctor of 10 years was not in their plan and they wouldn't cover it. When their doctor ordered some tests, they would not approve two of them and insisted that I try something else. When that test was inconclusive, they took a month to finally approve the right one. I had to go to a hospital of their choosing, not the good one I wanted to have do the tests It took 3 months and lots of hassle to get what I finally needed, something that could have been done in about a week if their system was rational and cared about the patient. I'm now on the dreaded government medicare system. It costs me about $250 a month for medicare and the supplement that covers all my deductibles and copays. I'm back with my doctor, any test I need I just go for, I can consult anyspecialist I want if I should need one and I can go to any hospital I choose. In two years, I've paid nothing out of pocket except for my premiums. Harper, which would you choose?

Flatfoot, that's all very sad, but you should know that Blue Shield/Blue Cross is not accepted these days by most doctors, mine included. Years ago I had the executive plan with BC and was in the hospital for many many months. The total bill for me was my phone bill and my private nurse, they paid all the rest. That group was gold in those days, I don't know what happened to them today, but I did use my own doctors, and had everything done asap. These days? I don't know who we can blame, maybe ourselves for not waking up sooner to what was happening and fighting against it. I simply do not trust this entire thing being in only one hand.

Blue cross has about 80% of the market where I live. In our free enterprise system, that was the only coverage I could buy. 3 other companies turned me down and would not give me the reason except for "not meeting underwriting standards" and one other company said they would cover me at $1200 a month with a $5000 deductible. am I supposed to be grateful to the private insurance companies. If you reach the age of medicare, you might be very pleasantly surprised about how comprehensive, affordable and easy government run care can be.

I just received the bill for my wife's health insurance for the final two months before she becomes eligible for Medicare. It is for $1145.35 per month. Starting Feb.1 the premioum for her Medicare supplement will be $219 per month with an additional $75 monthly for prescription drug insurance. If you do the math you can realize why federally funded health care is a necessity in today's economy.
Why not defeat healthcare reform so that I can continue to pay exhorbidant premiums for her since she is in remission from a life threatening disease and Medicare and/or Medicaid is diluted as the Conservatives wish. I guess only the wealthy will be able to to afford adequate heath care if the Republicans have their way. There is nothing as jealous as the truth - Carl Jung |
