The state office holders have no vote on Federal Laws. So that sweep means nothing.

I would not say it means nothing Herb.
If they win NJ and a few other states, it could signal a change in the next big election.
Lookig at the figures, the blacks and youhg voters were not energized enough to go vote, like they did in record numbers for O.
Not saying this is whats happening, but who knows.

Now Herb, breathe in ~ breathe out~ and repeat after me, the Republicans are in office in New Jersey and Virginia. O campaigned (because he has nothing else to do) his butt off and the people have spoken, you know, those crazy Nazi teabaggers.

I THINK THE SIGNAL THAT IS BEING SENT IS PEOPLE ARE FED UP WITH THE INCUMBENTS, NOT OBAMA, NOT THE DEMOCRATS.
IN THE 23RD RACE UP HERE, THE DEMOCRAT WON!I THINK TERM LIMITS WOULD HELP IN THESE CASES AND LESS MONEY WOULD BE SPENT!

I think there's a good future for the republicans if they play their cards right. They won in Virginia when their candidate moved from the right toward the center. They won in NJ with a moderate republican candidate. In the 23rd district in NY, the dems won because the right wing nuts forced the moderate republican out of the race and their handpicked radical right candidate lost.

Mass hysteria and group psychosis are typical reactions when reality is overwhelming. It allows large numbers of people to herd together in the face on insurmountable odds.

They are real phenomena.

I THINK WHAT WAS INTERESTING WAS THE VOTER TURNOUT, OR LACK OF IT ESPECIALLY THE BLACK VOTERS. IF OBAMA DOESN'T DO MORE TO GET THEM OUT FOR THE MIDTERM ELECTIONS, THEN HE IS DONE!

I ALSO THINK PEOPLE ARE TIRED OF WHAT IS GOING ON ESPECIALLY ECONOMICALLY.THEY WANT CHANGE, AND VOTED INCUMBENTS OUT, BUT THAT'S NOT GOING TO CHANGE THINGS AT ALL!

Republicans have also swept out Corzine from NJ,
another tax n ' spend Liberal. And, Obama made 5 trips to NJ to stump for votes for Corzine. So, it looks like Obama is on his way down n' out just like the twisted and distorted Liberals that post here, wackos, the lot of them, indeed...

The Democrats gained one congressional seat in NY and one in California. The Republicans gained no seats anywhere.

I THINK ANYONE COULD HAVE BEAT CORZINE. PEOPLE ARE FED UP WITH THE HIGH PROPERTY TAXES, AND THE BAD ECONOMY.IF YOU WERE LUCKY ENOUGH NOT TO LOSE YOUR HOME, YOU WERE KILLED BY THE TAXES ON IT.

I HAVE HAD A FEW FRIENDS TELL ME THEY BLAMED CORZINE FOR THE BAD ECONOMIC TIMES IN THEIR STATE.WHAT THEY WILL SOON SEE IS, THE NEW ONES THEY ELECTED WILL NOT DO ANY BETTER IF THE ECONOMY DOESN'T TURN AROUND!

Mick;
Are you talking about Milhouse's supporters?

I think the middle of the roaders, have seen Milhouse for what he is and have buyer's remorse. When NJ the most courupt state in America votes in a Republican, you know Milhouse had better take heed. Look at how much Corzine spent, and he still tanked.

Recession is when my neighbor loses his job, Depression is when I lose my job.

Recovery is when Milhouse loses his job.

How many trips did O make to NJ to campaingn for Corzine?
I believe if this had been 6-8 months ago, he might have pulled it off, corruption or not.

It's a victory, a win, yes, but not a resounding victory. If you take into account the other several minor party candidates that were in the race Mike only won by a mear 1%. Not a great victory in a city of 4 million+ voters. It shows that Mike lost in many, many districts within the city.

True, but he is still in. It's kind of like saying the Yankees only won by one run. Is it any less of a victory?

PUNISHER, WASN'T HE AHEAD IN THE POLLS LIKE 18%?
I AGREE THIS IS A WIN, BUT IT WAS A BIG VICTORY FOR THE LOSER.I DON'T THINK IT'S GOING TO BE AN EASY NEXT 4 YEARS.
