Any Bronx Bowlers out there? Eeker I belonged to "The Knights Of Pithius" Bowling League for a few yearsRoll Eyes We used to bowl at the Alleys on 233rd & Provost, by the junkyards. Also Bowled in Leagues at The Gunhill Lanes. Wink Does anyone remember "BAR BOWLING"? Confused It was like an Arcade machine, where the pins used to hang down, and you would slide this HEAVY CHROME PUCK down the little alley which was very slippery from putting this type of "sand" on it. You would have to hit as many levers as possible that stuck up from the alley! I use to play all the time at HARRYS BAR on Westchester & Hoe Ave., While my Dad sat at the Bar downing "BALLENTINES" Roll Eyes

Good to hear that fiesta is still there. I get into the Bronx frequently but haven't been in that area lately.

Used to bowl in a league at Woodlawn Lanes on E 234 St & BX River Pkwy.
The "Bowling Alley" machine you talked about was very popular at most Knights of Columbus Halls. You shook out very fine sawdust out of a can to make the metal puck slide. Picked up quite a few 7-10 splits with that machine but never made one on the alleys.

You know, I wish I was. I recently worked with a kid that belongs to a league. I think that I'm going to try to get in next round, lol.

I never belonged although I did bowl alot.
My wife was a member of a Bowling league. She was a so-so bowler. But her best games were when she was pregnant, she even brought home a trophy.
