Karl Rove, the Republican mastermind gave an interview to David Gregory of MSNBC a few weeks before the Democtatic convention and was asked if Dem.Governor Tim Kaine VA. who was being considered for the VP spot, would be qualifyed to be the VP candidate with Barack Obama.

His answer has astounded me while reflecting upon todays Republican candidate. He said and I quote "I don't think 3 years as a governor you are qualified enough to be the VP", yet Palin's 2 years qualifies her.
The Republican Gov.of Utah also said today when shown the clip that "Sarah Palin runs a larger state, and has foreign policy experience since her state borders Russia and Canada". I kid you not folks! And these are people running our states.
I believe Alaska's pop. is less than 685,000, and is only bigger in territory.
Alaska ranks 4th as the least populated state. I also believe it has 10,000 employees. It holds 3 electoral votes and has 1 House Seat! It has 2000 National Guard soldiers too. It has one of the most corrupt histories of any state in the union, and US Senator Ted Stevens is expected to go on trial soon for what the feds have said bribery, payyoffs and kickbacks. More charges are expected as the investigation continues. All this from a Lady who said she has "wiped out corruption in her state and has gone after the Good Ole Boy Network"

Now is this not ridiculous? Are we sharing the same planet as these people?

Norie, good find.....perhaps you will remember my post from yesterday regarding Palins "international experience"; she visited National Guard troops in Kuwait and Germany, and her plane stopped over in Ireland to refuel!!

As far as her involvement with the Alaska National Guard, a leading military leader from Alaska, when interviewed last week stated that in fact, HE is the Commander of the National Guard for international affairs and Palin only handles national affairs.

The above is documented on a post from yesterday.

PLEASE somebody, dose me up...I need to get numb!!!!!

Isn't McCain the one who's running the mudslinging campaign?

BTW, McCain met Palin for a couple of hours the day before his masters told him to pick her.

So exactly what is this "vetting" people are talking about; simply conducting a background search?? Apparently alot of people are saying that McCain did a real poor job of doing an in-depth check on her before selecting her....

And why did I read, only yesterday, that McCain "dispatched a team of 'fact-finders' to Alaska to see if there is any more 'dirt' in her background"???

Gibby, what is so wrong with allowing NEW people, with NEW ideas, to guide this country away from the MESS it is currently in, thanks to the OLD people with OLD ideas (who want to carry them forward)?

Belmont, Obama, Pelosi and Reid bring no new ideas to the table and only Obama is young out of
the three. They are socialist who want to give us bigger government. I'm against that. I
want this country to give all people the freedom to carve out a good life for themselves and
their families. If someone is down on their luck I want to help them out until their back
on their feet. I do not want to encourage them to look to the government to support them
and this is what I believe Obama stands for if you strip away all the platitudes. In the past
you have stated that his energy and charm will give the country hope that we can do better
but you haven't stated which specific things that he wants to do that you like and how will
we pay for those things. I'm not trying to rain on your parade but rather asking you to
evaluate the people running for office based on your Bronx common sense. If some guy offered
you all this stuff and told you he would get the rich people to pay for it would you believe
him? And if you did believe him and thought it was a good idea wouldn't you be a socialist?
I now fully expect to be demonized by the liberals, socialists and communists that frequent
this board for not agreeing with them.

Say, Gibby, aren't you the troll who talks about other trolls emerging from under rocks? How about scurrying back under Bristol's bean belly. It's better than rocks and also keeps out the rain.

Gibby how can you say Obama doesn't bring any new ideas then you mention his age! What do you call McCain? The problem with him is you can't follow his ideas because they change week to week. It's ok to disagree I welcome the discussion but was it necessary to refer to people coming here as communist?
The problem I see is you want to point the finger at Obama for all your own reasons, yet McCain is the master teacher and you don't acknowledge any of his faults. I don't expect perfect people running for office if I did I would run! ROTF, and despite what anyone says it is on the job training. If you don't think so then look how every president has aged terribly after being in office. It's a responsibility like no other job, and how can anyone say the experience they have is the best when they have no idea what they are getting into. Running a PTA or being a Mayor of a small town or even Governor of a small state is nothing compared to dealing with hundreds of millions of people, angry people abroad and every other nut looking to harm you and this country. No one is ever prepared for that.
If I read or see Barack, Pelosi, or Reid make such stupid ridiculous statements I will post it. Err BTW you did think the statements were foolish right? Cause I didn't see your comment regarding it.

Norie, Belmont asked me a question and I answered her. I brought up his age in response to
her question about new people with new ideas, not as a negative about him. As far as new
ideas I stand by that statement. You only asked me how I could say that you didn't tell me
any of his new ideas, I wish someone would. I don't consider John McCain a great option and
no one knows as you point out who would make a better president. You need not post stupid
statements made my Obama, Pelosi and Reid for my benefit, I already have heard or read them.
As I stated in my post I want less government and freedom for all people in this country so
Senator Obama and I agree on one out of two of those wants. If we can get up to two out of
three as Meatloaf said "that ain't bad". I realize alot of these issues bring out strong
emotions and all I'm saying in answer to Belmont is that we use are heads along with our
hearts in trying to make a decision. As far as leftwingers posting here it is a mater of
fact. Z has already responded calling me a troll LOL. He wants Pallin shoot because she
chose to have a baby with downes syndrome and he considers himself enlightened. You have
been pretty vocal about Pallin not being a good choice without attacking the lady that
seems a more enlightened way of doing things. As far as equal time, when someone posts how
great McCain and Pallin will be for this country without any reasons given, I will respond.

Thank you for your response.
You know, I speak out about the BS of everyone. I'm not a selective opinionated person, I give equal time to all. lmao

I want to say one thing, and it really bothers me.

Three weeks ago, many people who are Republican supporters here didn't have a nice thing to say about McCain, in fact many said they weren't going to vote for him. They wouldn't vote for Obama, but would not vote period. Many had said McCain was stupid or wasn't very smart as I recall. Many also had said that the VP really didn't matter as it was the #1 guy that mattered. Many had said experience does matter. Can you agree?

Now all of a sudden with the selection of Sarah Palin, John McCain became a brillant man, the guy they are voting for, and now the selection of a VP is very important. Experience doesn't matter, and thus the indoctrination of the Republican ticket. We condemn the flip flopping by our candidates yet we practice it here every day!

Z does not count,(sorry Z) he does not live in the USA and his opinions are his. It's very easy to say the things he says which I think are in jest when you live away from this country. It's very easy for me to make fun or critic another countries leader.

You are correct Norie. They didn't want McCain to be their candidate because his positions
were more to the center instead of the far right. With Gov. Pallin he appeased that because
she is one of the darlings of the religious right and so you saw the change of opinion.
The problem with the pick is how does he now continue to use one of his favorite agruments,
that Sen Obama lacks experience. If McCain were a younger man maybe it wouldn't matter as
much. What amazes me is how close this election is. After Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeldt, Wolfowitz,
Rove et al, war criminals all you would think it would be a cake walk for the Dems. Why do
you think the polls are so close?

I don't think age should matter after all 72 is not old. If It were 40 years ago and the life expectancy was 70 maybe, but that no longer applies.

As far as the close race goes, several reasons
1. race
2. who was polled, all anti Obama,Clinton
supporters, Republicans etc..
3.people say one thing and vote differently.
Prime exam. Obama, some said yes but voted
no.
4.Things change and what was important today
no longer is this day, Exam. the war.

By all accounts this race is the Democrats to lose. I personally would like to see a little more fire in Obama. I don't like the laid back campaiging it doesn't show you have the stomach to fight and strenght! It didn't work for past candidates it won't work for him.
In conclusion has it ever occurred to you that maybe the Republicans put out many of the Obama supporters to take away the Clinton vote, and nominee because Obama is a much weaker candidate? It has me. After is was assumed Barack would be the candidate, his poll numbers dropped like a rocket.
