Z, thank you so much! Yes that's me...about 5 years old, I think. I never considered myself "pretty" or anything else, thanks largely in part to my older sister who constantly told me how "ugly-stupid-weird-etc." I was....I believed every word she ever said for SIXTY years before I caught on that SHE'S the "jealous" one (as she constantly accused me of being of her...)
Narcissists have a way of doing that, and she is a Class A Narcissist in every sense of the word. When I finally broke every tie that bound us, I felt like I finally came up for air after holding my breath all that time! Two years later (now) I've never been more content or serene in my entire life. Scary person, she is, that's for sure!
Sad, that your own flesh and blood put you through that for soooo many years, now you are a better and sweeter person to overcome it all. BTW, cute picture, a lollipop? Hmmmm, ok only teasing, I believe there's one in every family, as I am the youngest of 10 several of my siblings are gone now.
Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a teardrop.......

Excellent idea, Z. I become violently ill to my tummy at the mention of Shirley Temple. She is now banished forever from the Paradise, as is her dead mother. I'm all for having a separate, more cult-related screening room in the Paradise. quote: Originally posted by Z: Billy, is there nothing artistic we don't agree on? I cannot stand Shirley Temple. It was Graeme Green's movie review about her being a midget that got him sued. Lucky for us, Shirley's aggressive mother is dead.
We need a special place in the theater for the morally handicapped like you, me, Yvonne, and Sister Mary squirrel. We can called it the LATE HENRIETTA'S BOX or HENRIETTA MEMORIAL BOX or HENRIETTA'S OWN HOLLAND TUNNEL BOX.

Dear Jose, thank you for your kind words. Ironically, this Thursday will be the 4th anniversary of my mother's passing, followed by her birthday the very next day. She would have been 91.
With "The Omen" out of my life now, I can grieve, mourn, celebrate, and/or do just about anything without fear of being criticized or put down. It was a lot to go through, but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and I do feel like a better person for it.
Now let us leave Billy and Z to continue their mauling of Shirley Temple and her own mother, and their quest to find another, more private screening room!

What splendid titles. I'm sure these were shown once upon a time at the Ascot. Now we can show them in the Deep Purple Room at the Paradise (addditional fee required for entry). My personal favorite was The Sword goes Deep. I hope that film hasn't been ruined because the negative was printed on nitrate film. quote: Originally posted by Z: Yes. That's what we need, a place to show X-Rated cult movies such as HENRIETTA'S BOX, BOXCAR SWORD, DEEPSWORD, SPALDINO REVEALS ALL and many others.

I feel very sorry for you belmont girl. Have you ever been happy in your life? Sometimes I think our family is our worst enemy, and hurt us the most.I'm glad you're free.

Paula, while not overlooking the pain your situation has given you, it is nonetheless not usual. Despite his own de****able private life, I think R.D. Laing offers us a valuable insight into the family and trauma if not mental illness.
