We just returned from a cruise from Genoa to England and four days in London.

When the ship docked in Le Harve, France we took a tour to the allied beaches in Normandy. We visited the D-Day Museum at Juno Beach (one of the British landing sites), then to Point du Hoc, Omaha Beach and finally to the American Cemetery. It was all a very moving experience and something every American (and every free person) should try and do in their life time if at all possible. It was very quiet on the bus after leaving the cemetery.

Riding through the French countryside and seeing names of towns that I had read about in books about WWII also was very moving at least to me.
