"Give more ulcers than you get!" |
Norie, it was already in the news weeks ago that she's on her way out. Too dumb-ass "Sarah Palin II" for those sharp broads.

From Elizabeth Drew who wrote Citizen McCain,a book supporting John McCain: McCain’s recent conduct of his campaign – his willingness to lie repeatedly (including in his acceptance speech) and to play Russian roulette with the vice-presidency, in order to fulfill his long-held ambition – has reinforced my earlier, and growing, sense that John McCain is not a principled man. In fact, it’s not clear who he is. “I know that a successful war against Iraq will require a US occupation of undetermined length, of undetermined cost, with undetermined consequences. I know that an invasion of Iraq without a clear rationale and without international support will fan the flames of the Middle East, and encourage the worst, rather than the best, impulses of the Arab world, and strengthen the recruitment arm of al Qaeda. I'm not opposed to all wars. I'm opposed to dumb wars.” Barack Obama 2002 |

From Paul Campos, Rocky Mountain News:
John McCain's nomination of Palin has turned out to be what can be called an attempt to pull off the Full Nixon. Forty years ago, Richard Nixon figured out that there were a lot of votes to be won by tapping into widespread resentment of "arrogant elites," who thought they were smarter and better informed than their fellow Americans. For months now, McCain has been hammering away at this theme in regard to Barack Obama, whose Ivy League education is supposed to have infused him with the arrogance and elitism that makes him contemptuous of ordinary folk like, for example, Sarah Palin. Palin has spent almost her whole life in a very small town in a sparsely populated and extremely isolated state. For reasons that remain obscure, she attended five colleges in six years where, if her public performance to date is any indication, she seems to have learned nothing. If Palin knows anything at all about national politics or foreign affairs or history or economics or almost anything else one would want a president to know something about, she has till now kept that fact remarkably well hidden. She is, in other words, the ultimate representative of a kind of out-of-control populism. In its more extreme forms, populist resentment of elites flows from the belief that any ordinary person knows enough to be a good political leader, since political leadership is all about having the right values, and good character, and a pure heart. This is of course nonsense. It makes about as much sense as saying that performing open-heart surgery or piloting a jumbo jet is all about having the right values.

From Dick Polman, Philly.com:
The modern conservative movement - founded on a philosophical hostility to government - has largely exhausted itself, thanks to the excesses of those cowboys who were allowed to roam free, constructing a caricature of the capitalist system. A new chapter in our national saga is at hand. Many Americans, including swing voters, are not necessarily fans of strengthened government intervention (indeed, as we well know, the government screws up a lot), but, as in 1933, Americans look to government in times of serious crisis. This is one of those times - and most polls suggest that this sentiment is buoying Barack Obama's prospects. For instance, it's particularly noteworthy that, in the latest Quinnipiac survey of battleground states (released this morning), Obama is now leading John McCain by eight points in the state of Florida. I repeat, Florida. Florida is McCain's make-or-break state. The key statistic concerns the economy. When asked to choose the candidate who could best handle our economic woes, Floridians favored Obama by 14 percentage points; independents favored Obama by 17 points.

Values???...oh, you mean Palin's values when she: 1)fired the librarian who refused to agree to remove certain books if Palin made that request?...when the town went beserk, she was rehired, but later quit because of the pressure she experienced from Palin? 2) harassed and fired the city official who refused to fire her brother-in-law, the State Trooper, 3) had a COURT ORDER issued to stop harassing her brother-in-law 4) did a flip-flop on the Bridge Scam, AND then, kept the money.... 5) spent 23 million dollars on a road that was SUPPOSED to lead to the bridge that was never built (it was built AFTER she flip-flopped 6) charged the government to STAY IN HER OWN HOUSE when on government business ...you mean THOSE values? |

I recall VERY clearly when Richard Nixon was considering a VP choice, he chose none other that Spiro Agnew, who then created his famous line to try to put down all those who had issues with the US policy in Vietnam, at home with the "establishment etc; Agnew's slogan?: the "leftists", "hippies" and "anti-war elitist"s were all "NATTERING NABOBS OF NEGATIVISM" |

About those Supreme Court decisions - there's Exxon V Baker decided this past june that dealt with the Exxon Valdez oil spill. This took place in Alaska (her state) and about oil (energy is supposedly her area of expertise. At the time of the court decision her office issued a memo about how they didn't like the decision - guess she didn't read it.

LMAO...so she actually either forget or didnt even read the result of a Supreme Court decision that centered on the State that she is the governor of (and, might I add, the Commander of the Alaskan National Guard as well) |

As of this morning, Real Clear Politics said that if the election were held today, Obama would take 353 eltoral votes to McCain's 185 or 65.6% of the total electoral college. This is an increase of 52 electoral votes for Obama. Mr. Obama is now leading in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Michigan and Florida, states that were previously either tossups or McCain territory. The key issues seem to be the economy, McCain's increasingly erratic behaviour, McCain's negative campaign and the unsuitability of Sarah Palin as VP nominee.
On 9/21/08 Obama led by 13 electoral votes, on 9/22 by 30, on 9/26 by 65 and on 9/28 by 86. As of 10/1 it had increased to 96. The only states with any sizeable number of votes that McCain leads in are Texas 34, Georgia 15, Tennessee, Missouri, and indiana with 11 each and Arizona with 10. I don't know what they base polls on, but if you see one from Florida, it's probably not accurate. I was called, asked a series of questions and I lied because I think polls are useless and tend to slant things.
