I'M STILL BURIED. I LIVE IN A PRIVATE APARTMENT AND MY LANDLORD IS AWAY. WHEN SHE COMES BACK, SHE WILL HAVE TO USE THE SNOWBLOWER TO DIG ME OUT. THANK GOD I HAVE EVERYTHING I NEED.
Our local guys, and the county do a grrrrreat job up here in Summit. I banged in yesterday because I didnt want to bust my ass going and coming from work.
I cleaned the driveway today, and everything is ready for me to go in tonite.
Hope everyone was safe and secure during the storm.....

I can't believe it. I sent my best friend an email, not expecting her to answer, as I figured she'd be home today...she's gotta take two buses and the metro to work (she works in Larchmont and lives in Morris Park), yet she made it to work today!
I'm impressed at the great job the city's doing to clear the streets.
Way to go, New Yawk!

Norie, politics like many things, runs in cycles. If you look back over the past 104 years, there have been 22 presidents, 11 Republican & 11 Democrat. The greatest single span of time the Republicans held power was 12 years (Reagan & Bush) followed by 8 years of Clinton. The longest single span of time the Democrats held power was 20 years (FDR & Truman) followed by 8 years of Eisenhower. Neither party, with these exceptions, has held sway for a long time. Remember, Bush only won with 51%. That is not a very big margin. 49% didn't want him. It only takes a shift of 2%. And if Iraq proves to be the fiasco that it appears to be, that may be all the public needs to make that small shift. As for viable candidates, who ever heard of Clinton before 1992?

Typical reactionary comment. Good news is it's only a 2% difference.

BTW Norie, the Republicans biggest strength was in the 60 years old + group(76% I believe) and their weakest showing was in the 18-29 age group(39%). In 4 years how many of the 60+ group will still be here as opposed to the 18-29 group?
