What was your favorite school trip?

We went on a lot of school trips when I was a kid -- places like the top of the Empire State Building, China Town, the Planetarium, the Zoo, The Museum of Natural History .. but my favorite trip was the one we took to the World's Fair in Queens. I think I still have some souvenirs packed away with my treasures.

My favotite trip was the senior trip at Columbus HS. We went on a ski trip for the weekend. We went to Sudbury Vermont , I had a great time and met a former JHS classmate , a young lady I used to make fun of in JHS...turns out...the joke was on me. There wasn't a thing to make fun of . She did forgive me though !

One trip I can recall....I was in the 4th grade at P.S. 32, we went to the Museum of Natural History. First off, I had to take a coffee can with me on the bus, 'cause I was the motion sickness one (and I had to use it). Secondly, right before we headed to the cafeteria at the Museum, we all went to the Lavartory. All the girls went into the stalls, used the facilities and flushed....no big deal right? Well, there was a sign on the wall "DO NOT FLUSH". We created a massive flood in the girl's room. We had wet shoes and socks (not just water) we were all grossed out.

Also, when we passed the Belgian Congo exhibit, the boys were hysterial over the naked bosoms of the women of the congo. Our teachers and chaperones were sooooo disgusted with us.

That's one trip I will never forget

Field trips I remember going on when I went to our Lady of Mercy were the Museum of Natural History, The World's Fair and a ballet. In high school (Mt. St. Ursula) the best trip was our senior trip- Canada- we went to Quebec and a quick stop in Montreal where we went to a hockey game.

Arggh, alas, I was never allowed to go on any weekend trips...my senior year, they went on a ski trip.

But, I do remember going on a boat ride, the Circle Line, cruises around Manhattan Island, passes by the Statue of Liberty, etc. Our brother school, Rice HS, also went. I went to Cathedral High.

We had a blast.

PS32 was the best year for trips.
We went to Lincoln center, Dykeman house, Morris-Jumel Mansion, Museum of Modern Art, Museum of Natural History.
And I do believe that most of it was done in the 4th grade, with Mrs. Gardell.

When in H.S., I went on a school trip to Pinegrove Ranch. It was the first time I ever rode a snowmobile and went skiing. It is safe to say that although I had fun doing both, I crashed the snow mobile into a tree and I could not make it to the bottom of the bunny slope without falling on my butt. Great Memories. My very first school trip was a walk to the Public Library where we all got library cards and each week we went back to get a new book and return the old one. I was in the first grade.

Do they still have school trips?
