The GDP has always been the benchmark on how we are doing.
But we have a lot of people out of work, and those working are probably working more hours for less money{ except bank execs and Wall St.}
Plus they are not rehiring layed off employees, even though they are returning to profits.

STATE FOR STATE COMPARE THE HIGH UNEMPLOYMENT RATE...THEN TELL ME THE ECONOMY IS GOOD...

ARE HOUSING SELLING? ARE PEOPLE GOING TO RESTARAUNTS? ARE STORES PREPARING FOR "BLACK FRIDAY" THE BUSIEST SHOPPING DAY OF THE YEAR?
I REALLY DON'T THINK SO STEVE..
DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHERE WE ARE HEADED IF OBAMA DOESN'T STOP ""PRINTING MONEY""??
ANY IDEA???
IF SO, PLEASE EXPLAIN IT TO ME...

I didn't say that the economy is good, as you claim. PLease read the title of this thread again. I said that the increase of 3.5% in goods and services is good.

BTW, your chastisizing me for believing everything I read made me choke on my food.

Ummm, housing sales have been going up month by month, except for the last one, restaurants are still busy by offering better values and Sears is starting to have Black Friday sales every Friday from now to the end of the year.

Article today on the web, says that jobs won't return until 2012......a long long struggle for sure.

I'm wondering if Snowbirds will return this year, so far traffic is light, I'm thinking if those without jobs up North were part time Snowbirds, it could impact our economy. Either way its going to be a long rough ride.
