Hi Tom
I'm not sure I understand your question. Don't know where Clifford Place is. If it's south of Tremont the public high school proberly would be Taft. I grduated Taft in 59 and your not in my yearbook. As far as Catholic high schools as long as you were accepted you could have gone to the many in the Bronx or Manhatten for that matter.

Louis,

I'm sorry for the confusion. Clifford Place is only a few short blocks long. It runs east from Jerome, past Townsend and ends at Walton Ave., and parallels The Cross Bronx between 174th & 175th Streets.
Now, I'm not looking for myself in your '59 yearbook. The person I'm looking for lived at 50 Cliddord Place, cor Townsend Ave., and her name would have been Mary Ann Balchin. So, I would kindly ask you to recheck your yearbook for this young lady and then thank you also for the clarification on a Catholic high school.
You may also recall from previous discussion that I am still here in 'da Bronx, Pelham Pkwy North and Bronx Park East (intersection of Wh.Plains and Boston Road) and should you be in need of any type local research, I am more than pleased to help out.
Thanx again..........

Tom, if she or the family was registered in the parish at that time, they will have a record of it. Glad to hear that you are still living in the good ole BX..I miss it every day!

The old joke about Taft HS is that it was the only school in NYC where the school newspaper had an obituary column!

And that Taft didn't have a Principal, it had a warden!

Taft 64-67. Some of my most memorable experiences occurred there.

On Monroe Avenue Between 174th and 175th Street across from the firehouse. Do you remember your teachers from PS 70. Mine were Lauracella, Sacks, Young, Miller and Sussman. I remember the gym teacher was Mr, Watkins. Have you ever been back to the neighborhood?
