Yo! I just found this website! Man, does it bring back memories!

I lived on East 222nd Street(just off Bronxwood Avenue) and attended Our Lady of Grace Grammar School and then "The Mount." I graduated in 1976 and stayed in the NYC area until 1979 when I left for life as a "roadie."

I traveled around the world about 20 times since then, but always look forward to coming to NYC ("The Garden" and The Beacon Theater and several other theaters). I definitely always feel back home as soon as I get off the tour bus and grab "a slice" and have an egg cream.

I lived around the U.S. the past 26 years (AZ, CA, CO, NE, and TX) and currently live in Oklahoma City.

Mount St. Michael ...

I remember:

"Fat Al" controlling the bus stop

Bro. Kelly beginning science class with, "Ehhh, stand for a prayer."

Bro. Hanshumaker, who all of us were convinced was some sort of a mental patient

Went to To The Mount 1962-1970...was in the last grammar school class....a great education but way too many "unfit" Marist Brothers there. Today, they'd be arrested if they tried to do now what they did then. But the good memories still survive: The candy counter in the cafeteria where you could get tons of candy, popcorn and fountain service....the arts & crafts department...the outdoor wooden running track.....the infirmary....the bookstore where you could buy a Spaldeen....the payphone in the hallway outside the Bursar's office where....the bazaars held in the quadrangle where I met Office Joe Bolton (a local kiddie show tv host)& Bozo The Clown.....

Mount Graduate of 1985. Not the greatest experience, but not the worst either..

Best shape of my life running for that damn #16 Special!

Richard and the Young Lions? Ducky Boys? Fordham Baldies? If this garage band or bronx gangs of the 50's and 60's mean anything to you, check out Lantern-Media.com to find out more about them!
