Both of the people I knew from Science (68 & 70) are lawyers now. I wonder why that is?

No, but I began at Bronx Science in 1968 (the year of the big teacher's strike) and graduated in 1971. My brother graduated in 1960.

I graduated Science in '63 and began teaching on the picket line during the 1968 strike.

It is one of the "elite" schools, getting in there requires good grades and high IQ, there are several who have won the Noble Peace Prize, and as an example Lewis Battist class of 47 went to Science garduated from Notre Dame where he studied radiation chemistry. Went on to be an investigator for 3 mile island and has worked with thr Rogovin Commission continuing the investigation of 3 mile island. etc. etc.

Carol Weissman class of 76, architecture, went to city college has a BA and BSArch. In 1983, at age 23, she passed the artchitectural licensing exam and was the youngest female on record to have passed the NYS exam.

There are many lawyers, doctors, many in the fields of science coming out of the doors of my alumni, now mostly made up of Asians, mostly from Queens, NY, there is maybe a handful from the Bronx. This is what makes this school so special, and some great people have passed through those doors. Not to take away from any other Bronx school, but if you want a note worthy career, going to Science can open many doors.

Anyone here have Richard Sodikow for English? He was my cooperating teacher at Evander when I did my student teaching (just before he transferred to Bronx Science) I'd love to be able to find him.

Class of '53. After leaving Science I mistakenly thought I was too smart to go to college so a year later joined the Navy. After discharge I spent the majority of my business career in the apparel industry.
