I'm trying to find out the name of a candy store that was on 180th street between Daly Ave and Vyse. On the corner of Daly and 180th there was a fruit store and at the other end on Vyse & 180th was an appetizing store. In the middle there was a Bakery and a Deli.

"This was a hangout store, especially on Friday nights. It was a small candy store with a few steps going down. They had a soda fountain, made egg creams and sold a variety of candy and gum". Another possibility is Goldman's (same area)

No Mike thanks but that's not it. I know the owners sons name was Johnny Turchin and they were Polish. The store was 2 doors down from my Uncles fruit store The Daily Fruit Exchange on 180th.

Was the name of the candy store Heckerling's ?

It's amazing how memories come flooding back sometimes. I remember Koenig's Candy Store on Westchester and Evergreen. Mrs. Koenig made the absolutely BEST egg-creams. She had this technique; she would put the glass at an angle so that the seltzer would go dowm the side of the glass, and produce the PERFECT head on the egg-cream, maybe one inch or so. I think they used Fox's U-Bet chocolate syrup, and it was SOOOOOOO good. It was a tough decision to have a Lime Rickey or an egg cream on a real hot day; either way, I was a winner.

Never ventured that far, but there was a candy store on Westchester between Ward and Boynton, near the movie, run by this lovely old couple. They always put a spoon of ice cream in their egg creams and they were wonderful.
