In the 1950's I have very fond memories of going to the Candy Store located near corner of 138th St & Alexander Ave. It was across the street from St. Jerome's church and school. I think I had my first chocolate malted mile shake in the old stye chrome and glass holder when I was around 6 years old. The extra shake was also in the mixing tin. I could hardly finish it, but as I grew older it seemed to me they were making them smaller. Does anyone remember and know the name of this Candy Store?

That candy store belonged to my grandfather. I'm not sure how long he owned it, but I remember it closed when he died around 1962. I think I was in the 4th or maybe 5th grade at St. Jerome's at the time. I remember coming home from school one afternoon to find the police there and they wouldn't let me go inside. I used to stay at the store after school until 6PM when my mom would come home from work. I still have the Hamilton Beach malted mixer from the store! I may also have some photos.
