I never knew the name of it but there was a great candy store directly opposite PS6 on Tremont Avenue. The place was a beehive because of the school, and they served the best french fries in a little paper bag with a toothpick and ketchup. They had penny candies galore....nickel nips, Romanoffs, joyva jells a penny apiece. Sure miss the old fashioned candy stores, and of course miss the eggcreams.
