I was an auditor for the Long Island Rail Road for 20 years. Retired at age 59 in 2002. To me work is a dirty four letter word.
Before working for the LIRR I held various financial positions including payroll manager for Radio City Music Hall in the early 80's. It was the best place to work but the pay was lousy so I went to work on the rail road. Best move, financially, I ever made.
Worked at Sperry Gyroscope and then Bulova Watch as a cost analyst, as payroll manager for PRD Electronics, Polygram Records & Film and then Radio City Music Hall.
Now I work at trying to play golf, snorkling and wood working.

Worked in the Lohman's Back Room - when I was 18 - waitressed. I worked in small Italian restaurants in Long Island, worked in an Arthur Avenue restaurant, worked in the diner across from Lehman Highschool and finally the last place I worked - Sammy's Retaurant on City Island.
My grown up life - I managed a car rental agency while living in San Diego; worked for Texaco Inc. (1981 thru 1991); worked for the President of a small law firm (1991 - 2000) and finally, I worked for Avon, Inc. - Executive Assistant to the VP of Product Development (beComing and mark. cosmetic lines). Though I am not retirement age, I had to leave my job due to my 17 year old daugter's murder in 2/06. I became very depressed due to her death and current collect SSI/Disability - if I ever feel better - I plan to go back to work - worked for 30 years and really miss it.
