I think I have been in love from the day I saw my first female and was able to distinguish what they were. In all my memories I can never remember going through a phase where I thought girls were icky. The good thing was that there were allot of girls who lived on 189th. If that wasn't enough there were even more with whom I went to school with next door at Mt Carmel.
Diane H. Just had to be my kindergarten sweetheart. She didn't think so but I wanted her to be. Through the rest of Grade school there was Antoinette D. and Joann B. both of whom I loved from afar. However the single girl that most dominated my childhood had to be Barbara G. She lived two floors directly above me and I was thoroughly infatuated with her. I used to sit on my window sill on hot summer afternoon and sing out loud so she would hear. I loved to sing. Still do and yes people still throw things at me Smiler Somewhere in those years we did a stint as Boyfriend and Girlfriend. We held hands and sat together on the stoop but it didn't last long. There just wasn't any passion. I wan't even a teenager yet and I knew there had to be passion. We stayed friends and I can't remember if they moved away first or I joined the Navy. Barbara was certainly not my first True love. That wouldn't happen till I was 17 but Barbara is still the girl I think about whenever I find myself back in time, maybe singing a bit of Image Of A Girl, and ducking...............

Dennis I lived on 189th between Bathgate and Washington. Note my reference to Mt. Carmel school being next door. Smiler I lived there from 1949-1967 when I joined the Navy.

No Problem Kat. I'm 56 years old but I doubt I will know the people you are thinking of. Remember, back in those days we didn't travel much outside our own neighborhoods an in my neighborhood All of Bathgate ave was Mt. Carmel, or Roosevelt HS, or The lot used by PS45 as a garden later to become the PAL bldg, oh yeah and The field across from Mt. Carmel where we sometimes played Softball. There were some families living across from Roosevelt but I don't think we were acquainted Smiler
