I see there are very few posts here, but I'll be brave and write about my biggest crush, Freddie Torres. We went to Ridder JHS from 61 to 64. In Glee Club, when I sang, it was for him, little did he know. I used to stare at him every chance I got. My first experience with heart flutter, was for him, again, little did he know. He was gorgeous...curly black hair and soulful brown eyes...very handsome and tall. I was too shy to let him know I cared, but we were on friendly terms. I was so depressed after my last year of JHS when I didn't see him anymore. My friends knew I was absolutely gaga over him. He was such a nice, sweet, quiet boy, and a good student. He was my first love. I guess our first loves really stick with us. Makes me feel like a kid again, as I can recall those days. When I sang "Serenata", it was for him. Now, I wish I'd have told him, but I was way to shy to say it. I still have the yearbook he signed for me. Remembrance makes my heart palpitate. Ah, sweet, sweet, innocent youth! God bless. Kris

Kris, that was a very sweet story. It's sad sometimes when our shyness blocks our way in life.

Hi Yvonne, I'm glad I didn't remain so shy, or I might never have had a loving relationship. Back in those days, too, it was the general rule that the boy asked the girl out. I remember the intrepidation I felt, when I asked him to go to the library with me! He did go, by the way, but it never went further. It's all a pleasant memory of the gentler, more innocent times. Nowadays, things move too fast, but as I've said many times, the pendulum of life seems to swing to extremes. Thanks for your thoughtful reply. God bless. Kris

Hello Kris, this is for you.
En la vida hay amores que nunca pueden olvidarse! There are loves in our lives that can never be forgotten. Unerasable moments that the heart will always keep. For the thing that one day made us tremble with happiness. Is forbidden to say that they can be replaced with a brand new love. I have kised other lips, looking for new illusions. Other arms have held full of passion, but the only thing that they accomplish. is to bring back the memory of yours that, unforgettably will live within me.!!!! Sometimes to relive the past is to live again for a second of our lives that like a passing cloud goes by and will never be seen agqain. Good Luck and keep all the love burning. Rgds Luis M. |

This is truly a sensitive, and beautiful reply, written by a romantic person. Wow, there should be more men like you out there, and women, too. Thanks for your candor and openness. I never did hear from Fred, though amazingly, someone here on the board told him of what I wrote and how I felt. It's okay, though, because my memories come from back then, not in the here and now, and those memories will always be treasured by me. Thanks for the lovely and poetic response. God bless. Kris
