Hi,
I`ll never forget them.
My kids tell me Mom,,, Wow Mom belonged to a gang.
My response is they were the greatest to us. They took care of their neighborhood.
Well that goes back to the 50`s. We hung out near Piggies.
My nick name was Betty, my cuz was Jeanie.
Yes now I`m married,, hey 3 more years & it will be "50 yrs married" so yes it was a long time ago.
I enjoyed every minute of that time.
Some of the guys names were Tullio, Cindy,
Morris, Bernie,I cant remember the others.
Just good memories now.
Bev( my real name) Ha

Were the Baldies similar to the gang in the movie The Wanderers?

I never heard of the baldies when I lived in the Bronx. There was a gang called the Fordham Wheelers(?). Someone told me that they had a skinhead guy named "Crazy Carlos", but I don't think they are the same as the Baldies. The Baldies must have left when I was in the Bronx. Maybe they moved to Scarsdale or Connecticut.

I did come from the Arthur Ave area and Fordham and was a gang called the Fordham Baldies when I was a kid in the 50's and as far as the Fordham Wheelers , I was a Fordham Wheeler and there was nobody named Crazy Carlos in it and nobody was a skin head , we were all Italian, we were a motorcycle club and that was in the 60's We all road Triumphs and one BSA motorcycles and hung out in a garage on Hoffman St.

Hi Stumbo, I cannot remember it either, but the owner was such a nice guy, I have to ask one of my girlfriends, because we were fooling around one afternoon, the guys and girls, and she put her arm through the glass door, had to go to Fordham hosp for stitches...remember that hospital? Didn't we all have our tonsils take out there? haha
