It took FORTY years, but I found my ex-girlfriend, and I am as much in love with her now as I was then.

It was as if we never were apart.

I thank God I was blessed

Haha,

Actually we found each other through Classmates, and, like I said, it was as if a moment in time had been frozen for us.

I still remember the love that we shared, and have a piece of that in my heart even today.

Maybe my eyesight had diminished, but she looked as beautiful to me when we met, as she looked back in high-school.

And I am thankful. It was a heart matter, and I finally understood what that meant.

I've always wished that I could find my gal from 40 years ago...just want to apologize for the way I treated her before we broke up.

Hey Mike, Luis, Johnny,

I had a feeling when I put my original post here that I may hear from quite a few guys who wanted to contact girlfriends to make some type of apology for the ways in which we acted in high school. It took me 40 years, but my dream came true. Its amazing how our feelings about those things never quite leave us alone. Maybe we should start a new Forum, "Guys Who Want to Apologize to Their Ex-girlfriends"...lol

Id like to hear from more guys who have things they would like to say and apologize for to the ex-girlfriends;

Steve, I lived in the Claremont Park area until 1965. The family moved up to 194th and Decatur in the Fordham section in 65. I hung out on Marion, Bainbridge, 193/194. I graduated from St Helena HS on Hutchinson River Parkway in 1969. Left the neighborhood in 1970 when I enlisted in the Navy.

Mike,
A different section of the Bronx from where I grew up, thats for sure!..but we all have our Bronx Tales to tell, dont we. Id like to hear from a few females who were heartbroken when their boyfriends did what they did to make them walk around with memories of mistakes made.

Maybe we can start a "Reunited.com" webpage..lol

Everyone here knows my story, the first time I saw her, my heart melted, she was 15 I was 21, back then 1963 no one thought anything of it, we were in love, we planned to marry, she taugt me soo much, my appreciation of the English language was not very good, and she was patient and kind and spent hours correcting my speech.
I loved her with all my heart, but through stupidity I hurt her sooo bad, she left me, never to return....we both married, had children and still she was always on my mind. I married several times, always the ghost of the past would rear its head and the women in my life would leave, finally in 1996, two years after she became a widow, I called and she agreed to meet me, I flew to her city and we talked for hours, I literally begged her to forgive me, I didn't want to die knowing that the one person I loved with all my heart, still carried the hurt I was responsible for. Several years later, I got a call, she had serious health issues, again, I was at her side, never to leave, I was the last person to look into those baby blue eyes....my Angel, may she rest in peace.

You don't know what you have until you lose it, now years later, I lost part of my heart, my soul and my being, when I lost my Angel.

Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a teardrop.......

You know, its really strange that no matter how happy one has been with a current spouse (38 years), one never seems to forget that very "first love"

Jose,

I am new to this site, yet I saw your posts, and of course your mention of one of the all-time great songs, "Special Angel", but had no idea of its deeper meaning. I am so sorry that you have such a trememndous loss, which adds even more to my meaning about our first loves. Sometimes I walk around in a daze wondering how different my life would be had I not done some of the stupid things that I did, especailly with my girlfriend at that time. Like I said when I started this topic, we went out while in High School, and then didnt have contact for 40 years or so. Its not a commercial, but we were blessed that we were actually looking for each other, and found each other on Classmates.com Like I said a few messages back, it was as if time had stood still for us at that point. We met. And time was meaningless as we looked into each others eyes, and melted into each others arms. It was a magical moment that I can only thank God for. I felt a release of so much sorrow at not having the chance to spend my life with the person who was truly my soul-mate. We spent time together, and brought closure to some open wounds, some scars, and most important, feelings that had never gone away.

Well I guess sometines we look back at our lives and wish we had done some things differently. It seems that only a few actually have the opportunity to do something about it.

"Special Angel" has a new meaning to me now Jose, and I hope for all those out there looking for their special angel, you have the opportunity to revisit what may have been the most glorious moments of your lives.

May God bless,

Steve Heller
