There was Cascades It was more of a pool with sand.

Where did you people get all that money to belong to a Beach Club? I thought everyone was poor. I had to hike a mile or two to go to a public pool for 10 cents and 25 cents, depending on the day and time.

Thanks herb-m i was thinking the same thing, but I was afraid to say it. we were lucky to be able to pay the rent. $250.00 to spend like that was unheard of for most people I knew. we were lucky to have money for the bus to Orchard beach. if not, it was tar beach with a hose running up from someone's door on the top floor to cool off. Beach clubs were out of the question. kbgee, we went to jones when we started to hang out with guys who could drive.

Hey, wasn't there a Beach Club around 167th and Jerome Ave? Ypu could see it from the Woodlawn Jerome as it went around that big curve. For the life of me, I can't think of the name!!

dbob: Cascades

Guys, that is so crazy! A beach club right in the middle of a busy urban area... to me that is so odd. I wish I could've seen it... must've been nice.

It had a ginormous pool. Lots of beach umbrellas. I recall the place was always crowded.
