Pitch the penny? You would pitch the penny(as you got older or better you used nickels, dimes or quarters)against the wall and the closest to the wall would win all the money.

I played it all the time, but seldom went beyond a penny. We often played during our lunch hour at JHS.

That's OK, I can still add similar experiences that relate to your questions.

You can probably relate a lot of stories about the Bronx after most of us left...I was pretty much gone from the area after 1974.

We also pitched to the 3rd line on the sidewalk that had boxes. A liner or closest to the line won.

After I graduated from pitch a penny I went into poker and 21 (black jack). After that I went to the trotters in yonkers and bet on basketball games. Gambling was in my blood. I do not do much of that except when I go to Las Vegas.

Anyone want to bet on anything?

I remember going to the trotters at Yonkers .I sucked at the troters and spent time in the bar across the deegan(Johnnie Fell Inn).
