Just thought of it: When did they start using 6 umpires in post season play?
For as long as I can remember it being so. Recession is when my neighbor loses his job, Depression is when I lose my job. Recovery is when Milhouse loses his job. |

Harper.
I dug around a little and discovered that the first 6-man crew was used in the 1947 World Series, between who else, the Yankees and the Dodgers. The first 6-man crew in the All-Star Game was in 1949. ______________________________________________________________ Where love rules, there is no will to power, and where power predominates, love is lacking. OK...I have a baseball rules trivia question: in what situation would it be an advantage for an fielder to intentionally drop a fly ball? (forget the infield fly rule, the umps wouldnt go for and the fielder coundnt get away with it either, and I'm also not thinking about dropping it intentionally to get a faster runner off the bases).
