I've been away for a few days and was suprised that no one mentioned the passing of the Mick's wife. Merlyn Mantle passed away, at 77, from Alzheimers. Two of their for four sons pre-deceased her.

That IS sad. I was away for four days and first heard of this on BITB. I have mentioned on various occasions the impact Mick had on my childhood, otherwise filled with anything BUT a hero in my life. He was my first, and shall always remain, my hero. I knew about the quiet support that Mick's wife provided throughout his life. She quietly supported him when he went through very hard times with an addiction, perhaps in part brought on by the struggle he faced due to a familial disorder from his fathers side that was a threat to Micks personal and professional life, beginning at an early age.
She was there for him, and in her quiet way, supported him throughout his physical, social and personal struggles throughout his professional and private life. Always loved, may the Mantle family have the peace of God in their hearts as they remember the two heroes we remember as Number Seven, "The Mick". RIP This message has been edited.
