The Dodger game is on ESPN national TV tonight. They will probably be having a tribute for Jackie Robinson...here's a thought....if his widow is there for the occasion, it is very possible that she and Vin Scully will be the only ones around who actually saw him play his first game at Ebetts Field!
Originally posted by Barry B: Mike Scully didn't start his broadcasting with the Dodgers till 1949 or 1950. He probably wasn't there that day. Any way he's from The Bronx.
A little research Scully was born in The Bronx. Grew up in Washinton Heights. Went to Fordham University. Was a Ebbets Field twice. It was a long subway ride.
