Yes, they are playing like the Yankees should! They need to stay consistent and continue to win each series. A-Rod will be fine as long as he doesn't let the NY press corps and the fair weather fans get inside his head when he has an occasional slump. Derek and Roby Canoe are among the best middle infielders in the majors. Hopefully Bobby Abreu will continue to have a hot bat.

Abreiu better have a hot bat because he plays right field like a little leaguer.

I like Babe Ruth the best,,, why?? Because he has been dead for so long now that he probably looks all gnarly with worms crawling around inside of his eye ball sockets,,, very goth

Sorry Danny, for my response, but I don't know anything about baseball, but I do know about creepy stuff.

OK Danny, now that our payroll has climbed to the height that yours used to be( but we still don't come close)maybe we can win the big one.We NEVER brought the outfield fences in so our BIG MONEY players(Winfield and Reggie )could reach them.Hell ,I can reach the left field porch.Well maybe I used to be able to.LOLMaybe we'll see you in September ,if Boston lets you in.

Im glad to see George is finally getting some young pitchers. Jolly Roger might be good for a few weeks; but at his age it will be hard to keep going.

I don't know Danny .Do you really think A-rod is worth the money? The salaries these days are so F---ing ridiculous it's stupid. When a player makes more money than the president of the biggest country in the free world things have gotten way outta hand. And as for food stamps ,a good percentage of new yorkers are on them .If it's good enough for them ,then it's good enough for the Mets. The one thing you forgot was ,even with all that payroll you guys HAVE'NT won every year. Why's that?

Colin

Yes l must agree the money being paid to players is out of controll

and again yes l agree that to me know one is worth that kind of money........

That being said the yankee's toke over payments for a - rod from another team

and you talk like your smart person that being said you should then know it takes money to make money -- and the yankee's wouldn't pay that much for players unless they are making more then they are paying out -- so instead of the owners of all the teams making that kind of money for themselfs l rather see the money go to the players......

and as for the yankee's its not them saying buy the costly players and we will win
its the people on the streets saying there trying to buy the champingship --

all the yankee's are doing is giving there fans the best chance of winning and letting them see there favorite player on there team and for that they pay big....by geting the player the other fools keep giving up.

there teams are making big buck they just don't want to dish them out..

everybody knows the only team in baseball that brings money to any other team is the yankee's like them or not they pack the seats where every they go.....and that why everyother team want to play them $$$$ - l now live in florida by the devil rays and you know all the other teams come to town and they have to offer things to get people to come to the games -- but when the yankee's come the prices go up and theres no deals.........

AND LAST AS FOR WINNING YOU MUST BE KIDDING LOOK AT ALL THEY DID - AND IF YOU ARE FROM TYHE BRONX YOU SHOULD BE ON THERE SIDE.....

REMEMBER THEY DO BRING RESPECT TO THE BRONX..

RESPECTFUL PLAYERS
CLEAN LOOKING PLAYERS
YANKEE'S ALWAYS DONATING TO EVERY CAUSE
WIN OR LOOSE KNOWING HOW TO ACT
BREAKING ALMOST EVERY RECORD
NOT SELL OUT THE BRONX BY LEAVING & COULD HAVE

DANNY

HI Danny, Just for the record ,I grew up a Yankee fan. I switched to the Mets I guess to be different. I thought it was gonna give my father a heart attack when I did. But he understood being my own person and the ability to root for a different team than your dad (especially when they used to have the Mayors trophy game) was a big deal back then. After awhile I just stuck with them. That was around the time Steinbrenner bought them and was screwing with everything and distracting his players with all the crap off the field. That kept me away for good. Don't get me wrong when my team is out of it , I have my Yankee hat in the closet. Besides my wife is a die hard Yankee fan,so she beats the s*** out of me all the time. But by no means can a small market place keep up with the Yankees . They still have to make a profit or they are out of business( with no big corporation to bail them out).
