I love great pizza. I have stood on line for hours to get it at Pepes and sallys in New Haven. At Reginas in Boston and by the water tower in Chicago. I never found anything like that in the Bronx good but not great.

dbob the Fleetwood is long gone. From your other posts it appears you're from the neighborhood. Thought you might have been there as a kid

I knew the area but I never remember seeing it. I use to go to a place on 149th and 3rd Ave. I thought it was pretty good. Its still there but the pizza stinks now. Yollandas on 149th and Morris is still good.

The Fleetwood Theater was on Morris between 164th&165th. Fleetwood B&G was around the corner on 165th. I went to PS 90 most of my friends went to ST Angela's right across the street from PS 35

I'm with you Yvonne. John's on Bleecker is the winner. When I was a kid the best pizza in the Bronx (so says I anyway) was Tom's in the Throggs Neck section. Does anyone remember the name of the restaurant/pizza place across the street from the Loews Fairmont on Tremont? I remember Pine for some reason. Can that be right?

Did you ever get further west on Tremont and try the pizzas at the Crotona pizzeria, across Tremont from the Crotona movie?

Junior Dao was the pie maker and his pizzas were magnificent. Best I ever had.

Used to be one of my hangouts. You could also get great little necks on the half shell there. I had to bring my own Tabasco Sauce because i would use too much and eat up their profits. I remember it would cost .75c for a half dozen clams.

I knew the owner, Jimmy very well and was in business for a while with Sal, the bartender who was Jimmy's nephew Smiler

I've said it before and I'll say it again: In the Bronx It's John & Joe's, on Lydig.

In all of the world (Brooklyn), It's TOTONNO'S!
