I need recipes with sodium content under 1000mg's a day. That's total for the day.I can't eat all the crap I've been eating all my life anymore. So now of course I'm craving reubens ,pizza, bologna, salami. All food comes with sodium, the stuff that has the least amount is organic,so I'm learning to like that stuff but I need to put some stuff together that is different. Thanks for whatever help you can give me.

Why do you need a recipe? Just leave off the salt.

When you buy food from the stores, that are packaged or in jars, etc., read the label for the sodium content, and try to buy only food that has low content of sodium. Some stores have a section where they have only low sodium stuff. For instance, they have tuna with very low sodium. Also, canned sardines with "No salt added", etc. etc.

I don't put the salt shaker on the table anymore. In fact, everything I cook is with no salt. I use herbs and sp es to make the food flavorful. For instance, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, fennel seed, etc. After awhile your taste buds gets used to it and you really don't miss the salt.

If I cook pasta, I don't put any salt in the water.

(That word "sp es" I had to leave the letters i and c out because when I spelled it out it came out ****es. Why is that? Is that a bad word?) LOL

Thanks Marylynn.I have been leaving the salt out when I cook.I just thought that maybe someone had some recipes to share.I have been using Mrs. Dash to season and garlic (thank God I love garlic or I'd be doomed.)It's a whole new way of cooking and a new lifestyle for me,but I have to do it or I'll be looking at the grass from the other side.
