I left the Bronx and New York in 1949 and we moved to Southern Calif. But I do remember Alexanders and the Paradise Theater and Krums for ice cream soda's. I lived at 203rd and the Concourse. What good memories I had growing up. I am now 70.


I lived on 203rd and the Concourse from1941 - 1949, went to PS 8 and 80.

I sure do. Woolworths always had a good lunch counter. I was sorry to see the chain fold when it did.

This is like taking a stroll down memory lane going to Modells, Alexanders i can still smell that Gormans Hotdogs.

I so Remember Alexanders dept. Store...This was in the early 1960's I was probably 2 or 3..they sold toilets and my Mom was looking at some clothes on the racks and I pulled my pants down and went to the bathroom right in the middle of Alexanders on there Model toilet..it was a memory I guess I will never forget.....
