Where did you buy yours back in the day?

In the Bronx it was GORMANS on Fordham Road and downtown it was NEDICKS in the Rock Center Plaza at 50th Street

Anywhere I could, Jewish delis, Nedicks by The Stadium! Boy I miss NY hot dogs. This year for Father's Day, my kids gave me one of those rotating hot dog cookers. Cooking them this way really reminds me of my youth in The Bronx. The same taste of Hebrew National hot dogs, with mustard and sauerkraut only here in NH!

Nowadays I get one at The Court Deli on 161st St & Walton Ave topped with potato salad... heaven!

For a regualer treat I pop into the Nedicks on W 31st St btwn 7th & 8th Aves (near Penn Sta.)

Of course, once or twice a year I hit Coney Island for some fun and lunch/dinner at Nathan's!

Gormans was on the southeast side near Valentine Ave across the street from the theatres....I don't remember any hot dog joint on West Fordham Rd.

Thanks Mike, I remember the place. I know I had hot dogs there. It just did not make that big a impresion on me. I never thought Jahns was that good either . I prefered Addie Vallines. I did like the candy at Krums. Its a shame there all gone. I know Jahns is on LI

Hey Mike, we both agree that on Fordham Road the tops in dogs was Gormans, now how many could you eat at one time? I remember being able to do 4 without blinking, that's with mustard & sauerkraut. I remember a delicatessen on Tremont Ave named Lessoff's, which started my hot dog gourmet senses going when I was a kid. Talk about snappy dogs! There is something so delicious about grilled dogs. I never, ever would eat a boiled hot dog. It seems like a violation of some holy order. There's just no flavor.
