Oh, man.. Adventurer's Inn... How many people know that under the floor of the (now) Nathan's is the pirate logo from th Adventurer's Inn? My uncle, who had a car, used to take my folks and I up to Yonkers on a Sunday for hot dog and fries. Then we would play the games in the back room. My favorite was a baseball game where the player swung what was supposed to be a bat and you tried to get the ball up to the single, double, etc. Then I would beg to take "the long way home", which meant riding up Central Avenue to the Bronx River and then back to the Bronx. After the golf course past Adventurere's Inn there was ... right.. nothing. Look at it now.
Adventurer's Inn is gone, as are my uncle and my folks, but every time I pass Nathan;s I recall those days fondly and still take the long way home.
