I was asked if it's possible to block a particular user from sending you a Private Message (PM). The answer is yes-and-no.

This is possible from the user's My Space area. They can select the Go tab at the top of the page and choose My Space. From there, they should select Preferences and scroll down to the Private Message Options. They have 3 choices:

Allow Anyone to Send Me PMs

Only Allow My Buddies to Send Me PMs

Do Not Allow Anyone to Send Me PMs


They cannot block a specific person but they can specify the list of people they will accept messages from using the Buddy list feature.

So, if you're being bugged by unwanted PMs, you can either set up a Buddy List, and only accept PMs from people on that list, or you can delete the unwanted PM without reading it.

I've made the suggestion that an exclusion field be added to that area. We'll see how that flies.

In the mean time, please note that I have no access to your PMs, unless you click the "report" button, which then forwards them to me.

Did you see my request about seeing if the Auto-censor has a setting to only block on a match of the complete word?? Right now it blocks on any combination of the word.
Search engines allow you to do this and if the Auto-censor could do the same it cause some of the complaints to die away.

All I've got is a text field that lets me enter letter strings, separated by commas. I'm adding words as they come up. The software is not that customizable.

Oh, and don't worry about the complaints dying away. If they don't disappear on their own, I have ways of making it happen!
