Some ppl are of the thought she was promoting MY Show! That's the way I like to look at it. |

Caljamscott,
I looked into this (because I've never heard of it, and I thought I knew everything about music in the 70's) and found several websites on California Jam, and I have to say I like what I see. I just might order a copy if they are still available. All those bands on one stage, incredible. I've seen most of them individually, but never knew about this. Yvonne, check the sites out. Great bit of nostalgia. Scott, I understand your statement that it's bigger than the Beatles by the representation of talent on the stage, but I'm a Beatle fanatic , so I can't agree with you, lol. Nothing is better than the Beatles, (unless of course you are an Elvis fan, lol) Good job! |

Hi hanginout-
It always amazes me how many ppl have never HEARD of this. Of course I sort of grew up with it lol. If you wanna buy it it's still available. Have you heard the Free Download yet? That in itself is amaze. That gives you the preamble to what it's all about. You can join the Yahoo Group too if you'd like. http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/California_Jam/ |

The California Jam happened less than 5 years after Woodstock. It's known as "the Woodstock of the West." The sound is absolutely incredible the way I did it.
California Jam items are hard to come by. There are a few videos on YouTube, but they're just videos and nothing like the Sound I built into it. I have more videos than they're out on YouTube, but it's a nice starting point. If you want to get into the California Jam Cult I suggest you start with my Free Download from the California Jam Site. I didn't score the biggest write-up in the History of Media for being a slouch about it. From the Tycobrahe Sound Engineer's Report: In the early stages the Jam producers were estimating an attendance of approximately 60,000, and the initial objective was to provide coverage only to a distance of 1,000 feet from the stage. One of the first factors considered was the placement of the staging area within the infield to take advantage of the prevailing winds. The stage was set on the western quadrant of the field so the prevailing westerly winds would carry the sound eastward across the audience area. "We were lucky," said Jim Gamble, Tycobrahe Vice President and Director of Engineering, "The wind blew just the way it was supposed to all day long. If it didn't, there would be nothing we could have done to compensate . . nothing." -Wayne Sentis This message has been edited. Last edited by: Caljamscott, |

NOOOOOO, John Bonham!!!!!! I saw ELP at Roosevelt Field (or was it Stadium?) They were great. Scott, I like you, lol |
||||

Hey hanginout, I was *at* that Show! I would'nt be a true ELP Fan from New York if I weren't at that Show! It was Roosevelt Stadium (always the confusion).
Remember what happened, the first show got rained out. Then we had to come back a few days later for the 2nd try. The tickets said "Rain or Shine" but that wasn't rain, that was a typhoon! You *must* remember the big guy flopping around in the Mud. Everyone remembers that guy. Then someone said "hey, that's Keith Emerson stuck in that limousine up there!" So I ran up there and Keith gave me a sad look from inside the limo. At that time he was playing his "Stick" so I think he had that in a little breifcase on the floor of the limo with him. Any other recollections of this Show? Btw I saw the Beatles live onstage in August of 1964 if that means anything. Scott |

Let me know how it sounds please.
Just click where is says "Free Download" and this is how you start the MADNESS. The Deep Purple thing gets *REALLY* out of control. So does Rare Earth I JUST WANT TO CELEBRATE. This is because I took an obscure Radio Broadcast from the mid 70s and have made the biggest Musical in the World out of it. Call me a MAD SCIENTIST lol. |

Scott, I gotta be honest with 'ya, there ain't much I remember, lol. Look, I was pretty young, I remember certain details of the show itself, but we were sitting way up in nose bleed, so Im not sure of what was going on in the field. The only time I was in the field at a Roosevelt concert was for Clapton, and all I can remember other than the show is being crushed as people started to push. If you were at a Beatles concert, ( and of COURSE it means something.) than you are a little, ahem, older than me, lol. My cousin was there and she was on the front page of the Daily News the next day, in all her screaming, crying glory. Most concerts that I've been to were either at The Garden or Roosevelt. I wished I could have seen the Beatles together. I have seen Paul McCartney with Wings, and I was at the historic Thanksgiving Day Elton John concert that was John Lennon's last public appearance. |

Now it looks like I'm gonna be doing some radio from the Catskills starting July 2nd. Going on for 2 shows at least, with an Option to do more if I can get some Sponsors.
I have a Musical here bigger than the Beatles, called NUCLEAR WARRIOR. Then after that comes the world's SECOND Biggest Musical, what I did at the California Jam, and scored the biggest write-up in world history for what I did *there* Now I have a Record here from around 1963 called THE BORSCHT BELT which in my view could be the THIRD Biggest Musical in the World. There are two listings for this BORSCHT BELT Record on the Internet, and one of them is mine. So when I resurrect this thing soon from the Catskills, it could cause quite a stir. The radio shows will be streamed over the Internet. The Station has a radius of I don't know, about 300 miles or so, maybe more, maybe less. I haven't measured it out yet. One striking thing about my proposed July 2nd Show is I have some terrific Fireworks taped from the California Jam, actually a couple of Tracks have them. One of them particular is bigger than any Fourth of July Show *I've* ever heard, so it's gonna be Fireworks all around. Nuclear Warrior, California Jam, The BORSCHT BELT Revival, this is gonna be unusual to say the Least. Thank you everyone for believing in my Work. |
