Mike I knew all three brothers, Freddie was the oldest, played baseball and softball with him he was good and if you weren't sure he'd tell you. Freddie was a little self absorbed. Michael wasn't into sport more of a loner. Jimmy loved football and gave it 100%. I played with him we both graduated in 1960 from OLM. I haven't read Freddie's book a younger cousin of mine did and asked me was this guy full of himself, I knew right then that Freddie didn't use a ghost writer. I once broke his favorite bat in batting practice, you would have sworn I killed his first born.

Mike don't get me wrong I liked Freddie it was just fun teasing him about his ego. A couple of the guys I grew up with have told me it is a good book and I do intend to read it. Cristmas time is getting busy now so let me wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year and thank you for the time you served our country.

Hi Ed My name is Tommy McLaughlin. Did you live in the same building as Buddy Hendri and Mickey McPadden? I lived over Fitz's Bar.

Didn't you move to Long Island, I remember going out to visit your family there. I think your sister hungout with Patsy Hoban, I'm still in touch with her. Please give your family my regards. In 1960 I was in 8th grade in OLM. Ed I don't remember you I hungout with a large crowd on the Doc's Stoop NE corner of Marion and 188th St. Mike I remember Monsigor O'Leary he would give us our report cards. He reminded me of Barry Fitzgerald. He was an institution at OLM. Great place, great time. Mike who were some of the people you knew on Elm Place?
Gibby, your crowd must have taken my crowd's place. I hung out on Doc DiGiacomo's stoop for many years up to 1960. There was me , Buddy Hendri, Artie Watkins,Joe and Tony Cardoza,Walt Garbrecht, and kid whose last name was Lopez. I think his first name was George and a bunch more. I joined the Air Force soon after I graduated from Hayes in 1960.

Small world Tom, John Hendri hung out with us, Buddy's younger brother. Buddy past a way a few years ago. John died about a year and half ago. Also Tom McPadden, Mickey's younger brother was in are crowd. They are both gone now. We hung out in the Turtle Lounge. Fitz's became Cassidy's. Remember the Miss Bronx Diner across the street from were you lived? Funny we don't remember each other, I graduated from Hayes in 64. Four years when we were that young was like a generation.

Gibby: It is weird we don't know each other. Joe Kennedy a friend of Tom Mcpadden was her years ago and called me. I went to his motel and visited. I also worked at Ralph Corvino's shoe repair on Webster and I was the first neighborhood kid to get hired at Carvel across from Fitz's and I hung out at the turtle lounge when I lived there.
Mike Wyatt: Nice to meet ya! Met another guy from the neighborhood on here Ed Quinn. Him and Buddy got tatoos the same time but they couldn't describe what it felt like. So I got one. Duh!

I know Joe, he was Mac's sponsor. I had heard he came in from out west to try and help him. Use to play stickball and softball with Joe. He hung out in the silver slipper with the Rummys. His younger brother John is a bartender in Dutchess County. I loved those Carvel thick shakes thirty five cents. OLM had two reunions at the Mount. Last one was about ten years ago. Lots of people from Marion and Tiebout were there.

I just found this board and can't believe it! I lived at 2463 Marion Avenue from 1950 to 1960, first floor, first apartment on the right. I think it was Apt 1A. I went to OLM from Kindergarten through 5th grade. Janet, I can't for the life of me place you, yet we must have known each other if we were aproximately the same age and lived in the same building. I remember the Chambers boys well, Matty and Joe. Anyone know how they are? My name is Linda Dillon and I lived with my parents and grandmother. Our next door neighbors were the Costello family with 2 boys I think. I'll never forget my mother talking to Mrs. Costello through the dumbwaiter every evening! Does anyone know Joe Zinzi? We were very close friends when we were small but haven't seen each other since we were 16. Gibby, I can't believe you hung out with Johnny Hendri on Dr. DiaGiacomo's stoop. I am so sorry to hear that he is gone. My cousins lived across the street in 2472, Margaret and Julianne. Their friend Irene had the hugest crush on Johnny Hendri. I myself went "steady" with Patty Hendri at the age of 9!
