Hey all, I grew up on Evergreen, between Westchester and Watson (1160), and probably hung out more on the Westchester side than the Watson side, although I walked down Watson to get to 123, and to Boynton to get to 93. Vic Abramowitz, you sound familiar. I went to 93 from 51-56, 123 from 56-60 and Monroe from 60-64 and was in the band and orchestra, playing trumpet and mellophone. I knew alot of guys from that area, particularly if they were in the band or orchestra. My grandmother lived on Boynton, between Watson and Westchester, near the bank (Manufacturere Hanover Trust, across from the Ward Theather). I used to go to that candy store on Elder and Watson, what was it's name? And I took trumpet lessons from my PS 93 music teacher, Mr. Al Kahn, who lived on the corner of Boynton and Watson. He had a son Eddie. I actually was able to contact Mr. Kahn a few years back, and it so amazing to talk with him; I actually recognized his voice. I'd like to hear more about Watson between Evergreen and Morrison, lets speak!! Steve Heller stephenbheller@aol.com
