Roger, do you remember the following names?

They all went to St. Doms as well.
Izzy Baldassare, Johnny Aramondo, Jeff Russo, Aldo Baldassare, Augie, Tino Bartalone. Any of these names ring a bell?

These were some of the guys I hung with on Hunt Avenue back in the day.

Which Sally? Down on the left or right? I remember an older guy Sal, wife and daughter, left side of the street. Down on the right side was Augie and Sal Pagan.

The older guy was a good ball player, we kept him young in those days. If this is the same Sal, do you see him much anymore? If so, tell him Eddie Fleischman says hello.

For some reason, I think I know you?

Roger,

Do you still see Sal? If so, tell him Eddie Fleischman says hello. Hopefully he still remembers me. We got along real well back then, he was a good athlete. I used to pick his brain about sports. Does he still root for the METS!

I think he played ball with us because he always wanted out of his house. LOL

I am in Yonkers now.

Roger, I have a hard time remembering people from the old block, too many concussions playing football (at least 10, probably more though). Sorry, my mind is not what it used to be, and I will be only 41 in January.

This is what happens when you throw your body into the wind, and not worry about the repercussions later on in life.

And that is all I did growing up. I was always too rough! And now I am paying for it.

I still play softball on sundays though. I can't give it up... not just yet, probably never. I enjoy it too much.

I had rotator cuff surgery on my throwing arm (right arm). The Dr performing the surgery says to me, why don't you just give it up?

I responded by saying, Hey Doc, has anyone ever asked you to stop practicing medicine? he responded by saying no.

I then said, why would you asked me to give up doing something I love to do? lets just get it done... thanks!

Anyway. that is that. I have to rehab my shoulder though, but I don't have time to. too busy with work and all. But I have to get it done!

I tried to throw out a runner at 3rd base one weekend, and it sounded like I was crumpling up a newspaper inside of my shoulder. I have to rebuild all the muscles in my shoulder again. When they open you up for sugery everything collapses. Oh well! Live and learn.

Sorry to be boring you. tell Sal I say hello. I am not very far from the seminary.

Roger, Happy Thanksgiving.

Eddie

Yes, there is a riteaid there now, the neighborhood changed drasticly, there was just a home breakin robbery near Allerton and an old lady got robbed in the house and then they burned the house, they stabbed her twice in the neck, real nice this never ever happened years ago, we will never be able to repeat these great neighborhoods ever again

wow! I have never seen this website. I am from the Bronx a long time ago...and used to hang out on lydig avenue. But I remember a guy named Joe Bombace and I always wondered what happened to him and I saw his name on here. A shocker. Sometimes you reminisce and wonder what happened to all the old friends.
