PS 70 1954-1960, 117 1960-63, EVANDER 63-67. MOVED FROM MONROE DURING 9TH GRADE @117 & COMMUTED TO SCHOOL FROM 234 ST. BETW WHITE PLAINS RD & CARPENTER AVE. REMEMBER SOME NAMES LIKE STUART JUDA, JAY ???, KATIE & MARIE HUNGARIAN GIRLS WHO LIVED IN MY BLDG), GERARD BRANDT?, NELSON ??, HELEN WATRAS, SHEP ?? FROM 173 ST/MT.EDEN AVE HUNG OUT @ CANDY STORE ON TOPPING AVE & 173 ST (NAME???). COUSINS LIVED @ 1707 TOPPING AVE - DOREEN & ROBERTA. REMEMBER AN OLD HOUSE ACROSS FROM BARR'S THAT WAS VACANT & DECAYING THAT I HATED TO PASS AFTER DARK, HAD ALL OVERGROWN WEEDS, ETC. REMEMBER A SUPERMARKET @ CORNER OF MONROE & 174 ST. ACROSS FROM OUR APT HSE WAS AN APT HSE THAT WAS A ROOMING HOUSE OR BOARDING HOUSE AS IT WAS CALLED BY MY MOM. REMEMBER WATCHING THE BUILDING OF THE CROSS BRONX EXPWY. Where are you Mary (Ann) Balchin? b.8/10/41 in Manhattan; Irish Catholic with green eyes and blonde hair; lived on Clifford Place cor:Townsend Avenue (Morris Hts) 'till 1966 or '67; worked for Curtis Publishing NYC; active dance hostess at Cardinal Spellman Servicemen's Club in Manhattan during the 1950's and 60's; had a brother Thomas who once studied for the priesthood; her farther John worked as a night doorman at The Tuscany Hotel; believe her mother relocated to and died in recent years down in Florida. Any help or suggestions mucsh appreciated. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I grew up on E234th Street my mom and dad owned Dolan's Candy Store on White Plain's Road across the street from Sal's Luncheonette? I remember my Bronx days very fondly and get back there as often as I can. Kathleen

lived at 1101 Fox st between 167and 169 st???? util 1954 then went into the Air Force, went to PS66, hung out across the street between Roby"s grocery store, the candy store, a hand laundry and a building, across the street was a Kosher dele, up simpson st was the 41st police station. Also went to Herman Ridder for one year, PS40(prospect40), then downtown to central Commercial High School till 1954. Also lived on Cruger Ave, and Lidick Ave(not spelled write) off Pelham Pkway. Looke up on the computer and saw my old nighborhood it' all gone where my house stood now it's a empty lot. I cried like a baby to see that. God I miss the old nighborhood and the guys and girls. We were a mixed bunch black,white, everthing religion and color, yes the bronx tought me to except all human beings till they do me harm. I'm expecially looking for Stue Zuckerman he lived on 169th st????. Lived in Texas for 30yrs now live in Canada till 2007 then moving back to the good old USA.

Oh yes lived in Co-uo City and Cruger or was it Lidice ave and Pelham Pkway. |

Hello Bronx Boy...Yes I knew who she was, did not hang out with her..I believe she was a few years older than me. I lived in the corner apartment building over the small grocery store across the street from Bromberg's Pharmacy.

POST TO FORDHAM MIKE - Yes Shep dated a girl with blonde hair by the name of Fran - don't know if Suering was her last name, she lived on Topping ave in the attached homes between 173rd and Mt. Eden Pkwy. I heard he married her, but not sure if that is true. I had dated him briefly b/4 that - I remember his mother was never too fond of me - don't know why - she just wasn't - oh well. Shep (Ozoroff?) used to live in the apt bldg that was on the corner of Mt. Eden Pkwy & I think Weeks ave was the block down? Faced the Oval and Claremont Park. Stuart Juda lived in the apt house on Mt. Eden Pkwy, then his family moved to Queens. There was also a Dennis Camarada that lived in my bldg - I remember I always called him 'dennis the menace' - his apt was right down the hall from mine. Remember anyone else?//former bronx girl.........
