i am working in a medical adult daycare center in maryland. quite a few of the participants are from the bronx. many of them have a level of dementia. just today one participant brought in the winter 2007 issue of back in the bronx. he was a 1947 graduate of science and lived in the highbridge section. looking to brainstorm ideas on how to help these people reconnect and go down memory lane..thanks alot if anybody has suggestions

Do you have Internet access at the center? Are your patients capable of going on line and partcipating in these nostalgia boards....??

yes.we do have internet service at the daycenter though some pages will not print..i would say the participants are unable to use the computer..the medium age is mid 80's..but thanks i will see what i can print off. pictures are great for them

gardengirl, Perhaps you can post some of their memories of the Bronx. The Board members would reply which you can show or read to them.
It is likely they are a bit older than most of the Board members, but perhaps they lived in the same areas as some of us and can connect with many things we remember.
Maybe we tell them about our Grandparents and parents. I'm sure they can relate to that. I have a lot of great stories about my family and where I grew up.
