I don't recall the name. I looked her up in my yearbook and couldn't find her. I was at Hunter in the Bronx from Sept.'60 to Feb.'64.

Should I know her? Were you there as well?

I thought the word was "big", as in the "interest' you owed on top of the amount borrowed from one of the made guys.

Remember in "Donnie Brasco", when Pacino (as Lefty) was standing in the street and Sonny Red walked over and said to him "Are you gonna make the big this week", as Red's son arrogantly sniffed? Thanks for this. I looked it up on Wikepedia, and you are right. It is a Yiddish corruption of he Russian word for "winnings".

I onder whatever became of Bronxbob. He and Henrietta (Hank) Levine used to have an hilarious relationship.
