I was going to post this a while ago but you disappeared from the board. My dad had relatives by the name of Janowitz It was a long time ago but I do remember a Janowitz owned a store(grocery I believe) on Gun Hill Road near the hospital. Would that be any connection to you.

sorry but my husband said he had no realtives who had a store in that location. but..when i was a nurse at montefiore working at loeb center about 1984-85 i took care of a patient named janowitz. he was not related to my husband but perhaps it was the janowitz you are speaking about
