hi i'm elena.i've entered and registered in this site even if i'm from italy and grew up here but i've a kind of admiration for the bronx.i've been to new york in december, but unfortunately i couldnt visit the bronx cause the people with me were afraid of it.i hated it.i would like to speak with people grown up there to understand better.i'm not afraid of it.i've been to harlem and in a mc donalds near to the yankee stadium_the only thing i could visit_ and i've met so nice persons...i loved it.even if i'm white,i dont think it's so bad like it's said only by stupid people.

To elena82: Hi and welcome. I grew up in the Bronx during my teenage years in the 50's and 60's which were the best years of my life. I left the Bronx 30 years ago and only had a chance to go back and visit last year. I was surprised how nice the Fordham Road area where I grew up was, all these years later. The only thing that changed was the diversity of the people, all of whom we met were extremely nice. I only wish I could afford to move back, however the housing prices are beyond my reach. I now live in South Carolina. I noted that you are from Italy, my wife was born in Turin. Best wishes, Joe
