Does any body remember the RKO Chester movie theatre that was on Boston Rd. ,just up from West Farms ( the trolley car center of the world). I had a friend, whose mother gave birth to him prematurely in the ladies room of that movie house and very appropriately named him Chester. Your thoughts on that area in the early 50's would be appreciated
eyeball: I LIVED AT 2083 MOHEGAN AVE. NEAR 180 ST. FROM 1940 TO 1953, I WENT TO THE RKO CHESTER MANY MANY TIMES AND ALL THE OTHER MOVIE THEATER'S IN THE AREA. THE FIRST MOVIE I SAW AT THE CHESTER WAS IN 1944 ( PINOCCHIO )--JOHNNY--P S: WORLD WAR 2 WAS STILL ON.

JOHNNY---I saw Pinnochio about the same time you did,but I saw it at the RKO Castle Hill,which ofcourse was on Castle Hill Ave,just north of Westchester Ave.We lived in Parkchester at that time and did so until about 1952

JOHNNY QUICK I SAW YOUR POST ON BACK IN THE BRONX. I LIVED ON 181ST AND PROSPECT FROM 41 THRU 56. WENT TO PS 57 AND JHS 118. I VAGUELY REMEMBER YOU AT 118. PAL OF PHILLIP BELLO, GIGI TEITEL, ROBERT TROIANI. DO YOU REMEMBER TROIANI? ONE OF THE ORIGINAL BELMONTS. DIED MUCH TOO EARLY IN LIFE. STILL HAVE 1953 GRADUATION PIC FROM 118, CLASS 9-4.

I remember the rko chester. I used to go there with my friends. I knew a guy named Chester,I wonder if it's him. This was in the early 50's. I went to Herman Ridder JHS. Nice memories. Take care!

Hi, I lived at 2088 Mohegan, between 1959 and 1967. That was right across the street.
