Does any body remember the RKO Chester movie theatre that was on Boston Rd. ,just up from West Farms ( the trolley car center of the world). I had a friend, whose mother gave birth to him prematurely in the ladies room of that movie house and very appropriately named him Chester. Your thoughts on that area in the early 50's would be appreciated

J/Q,

I recall the "Chester" by name, but can't recall where it was located. I grew up in the Southeast Bronx, off of Westchester, on Evergreen Ave (the Elder Ave stop, one stop south of Soundview, 3 from Parkchester/177th St.), and for some reason I thought that the Chester was in Westchester Square.

Was that scene in "Marty" the one where Marty went dancing with his buddies one night, and eventually he danced with a girl who was very shy (if I recall, she didn't like her looks??).

Where is (was???) the Chester?
